August 13th 2007

Hello friends, Pete here, on June 13th 2007 we lost a great friend and a brother. Danny Gudz died at the age of 28 after battling severe epilepsy for thirteen years. Doctors could never pin point what was causing the seizures. On the morning of June 13th one of my greatest friends, a person who always called me his big brother, an energy ball of a person, one of the most enthusiastic people I ever met, died when his heart stopped during a seizure. I can’t even put into words how much we in the AnAkA camp will miss him. I never really knew the whole truth about his epilepsy, there was always something mysterious about that part of his life, in fact it took him years to even tell me that he had it. He didn’t want people to know about it, he didn’t want to give it any validity.

Danny was like an explosion of life, he lived so fast, he had no fear, and he would do anything for people he cared about. I use to tell him “you gotta chill out bro, you live way ahead of yourself” I can still remember his response...“I’m sorry bro, don’t be mad.” It was like an older brother trying to give his little brother advise, I always had a sense that he was rushing to live. Now I know why Danny, now I understand.

We first met back in 1996 at SamAsh in NYC, I heard someone shredding like a mad man on the guitar. I looked into the guitar room and it was this young, tall, thin, blonde kid just ripping away, he was a phenom. We started jamming together and grew to be great friends over the years, years that we just didn’t get enough of. Danny lived life like he knew that his time on this planet was going to be short. I remember talking to him some nights for hours, listening to how the epilepsy thing wasn’t a big deal and he wasn’t going to let it stop him from living his life. I remember how he always said he never had a brother and how I was his bro, and how he loved my family. He would always end each and every phone call with a big “I love you bro.” Come to think of it those were probably the last words he ever spoke to me.

Life goes so fast, and my family responsibilities with my little girl, and my responsibilities with AnAkA keep me very busy. I had not been in contact with Danny for a while. That wasn’t out of the ordinary, we often walked our separate paths, and then one day their would be a ringing of the phone, or a knock at the door, and their was my friend again, that huge smile, the big laugh, and his over the top enthusiasm. The first thing I thought of when his mother told me he was gone was that I wouldn’t have a chance to sit and talk with him the way we use to, about music, about life, and about our goals. It broke my heart. I still can’t believe he is gone.

Danny, brother, thank you for your unconditional friendship, I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss you. I know that you can no long walk your own path, I know that we can never sit down and catch up on our lives, the new moments, the loves, the loses, and everything in-between, but know this I carry you wherever I go, every step, every stage we play, in the darkness and through the lights. Your ideas, the things you taught me all those years ago will play out through my hands, through my guitar, through my heart.

The AnAkA boyz, love you … I love you …

I’ll never forget you..

Peter Pallis of AnAkA

Our friend, our brother, Danny Gudz -- You will forever be in our hearts and minds, we miss you bro!

AnAkA's "RUST & JADE" music video trailer has been released! This monster music video was directed by KEVIN CUSTER of Toaster In The Tub Films and Raging Nation Films. See it now by double clicking the banner below!

July 25th 2007

AnAkA’s music used for Pro Sports Investments to Radio Program Hosted by Robby Kendall of Audio Sports Online!

Pro Sports Investments, one of the largest memorabilia dealers on the East Coast will soon be broadcasting on the World Wide Web. The company, out of Ocean, New Jersey is teaming up with Audio Sports Online.com to debut a weekly talk show. The show will center around the vast array of autographed merchandise PSI has to offer, and will also include discussion of the world’s latest sporting news.

The show will be hosted by Robby Kendall. Each week he will be joined by Pro Sports Investment CEO Bernie Gernay to delve through the PSI catalogue. Kendall can currently be heard in national syndication hosting ABA All Access, the official talk show of the American Basketball Association.

Pete Pallis of AnAkA said, “It was a no brainer when Robby came to me and asked if we’d hook him up with a tune (more specifically the monster riff from AnAkA Misery’s Child from their latest album “Rust & Jade) for his new radio show.

Robby had me host his “Ultimate Top Ten Classic Rock Songs of All Time” FM radio show Indianapolis some time last year, and it went great. The guy knows, and has a great future in radio. Not to mention that the radio focuses on a company I told in high regard already, PSI. Bernie Gernay is a friend of mine, and is a great example of a young person following their dreams and making great things happen in life.

Both these guys are inspiring to me on so many levels, and we are happy to work with them and have AnAkA rumbling through the intro and outro of their radio show”. I’m al for supporting people who are out there making things happen for themselves. There is a lot people can learn a great deal from people like Robby and Bernie.

You know the old saying goes, in life you should keep your friends close, and obliterate your enemies…ahh lol or at least that’s the way the old saying it goes for me…lol but in all seriousness, I’m all for helping my friends, especially people who are out there making positive things happen.”

The first episode will air on Thursday, July 25th. Each show will last 30 minutes and will appear on Audio Sports Online.com. Following the live broadcast, the show will be archived for any time on demand listening. Audio Sports Online.com is an internet streaming site that serves as the broadcast home to more than 100 professional, college, and high school teams across the country.

Hello friends Pete here, on Tuesday night January 23rd of 2007, we lost a great friend. Her name was Cheryl Decisso, some knew here as “Mamahazard” from her conections to Brooklyn’s own Biohazard, others knew here as the “Metallica Mom” who as featured on VH1’s “Metallica Fan” documentary created by the makers of Metallica’s “Some Kind of Monster.” She was well known for being the Metallica Mom who lived and breathed Metallica, and took her kids to Metallica shows. So much so that Metallica themselves took notice and befriended her.

Cheryl passed away this week after a long bout with cancer, she was a great friend of ours, and she will be forever missed. She was a kind person, she loved her family, she loved music, and she was always a beacon of support. For many she was like a second mother. Her son Devin Decisso contacted me and gave me the news and I just wanted to take the time to say thank you to Cheryl for all he support gave us, and for believing in us. “When you told me about your cancer Cheryl I thought it was so unfair, but I guess that’s just the way life is sometimes. Thank you so much for being there, thank you for being our friend, I’ll miss seeing you at shows, I’ll miss your supportive e-mails and words of encouragement.” Our thoughts and prayers are with the Decisso family. Farewell Cheryl, The AnAkA boys love you!

Your Friend,

Peter Pallis

The Ultimate Warrior & The Ultimate Rock Band, AnAkA, will be working together on a project!

Remember the Former World Wrestling Federation Champion The Ultimate Warrior who blasted his way to pro-wrestling’s legend status from the early 1980’s through 1998? Remember the intensity? Remembers that awesome theme song with the killer guitar riff? The music blasted on and Warrior hit the ring at over 100mph, shaking the ropes, cracking the face paint, electrifying and inspiring millions across the world and rising straight to the top of the WWF! The Ultimate Warrior was the most intense force of nature to ever hit the ring. Now, Warrior joins forces with the most intense force of nature to hit the stage, AnAkA. AnAkA will be featured on Warrior’s upcoming work out packages titled, “Warrior Workout.” AnAkA will be featured on a high intensity compilation CD destined to fuel your new Warrior-driven workout routines with a unique blend of powerful hard rock and heavy metal music. Warrior Workout is the most innovative and unique workout program available and will offer practical workout tips and secrets, together with rich motivational resources. Following thirty years of firsthand experience in fitness, exercise and body building, being a former Amateur Bodybuilder and Professional Wrestling Superstar, Warrior, is ready to help individuals with a contemporary and comprehensive workout system that is designed for just for YOU.

The collaboration between The Ultimate Warrior and AnAkA was set in motion over 17 years ago. Peter Pallis AnAkA’s guitarist said it best. The Ultimate Warrior was someone I really looked up to when I was a kid. He was larger than life and even back then I could relate to him, to his intensity, and to his belief in self. Even on a predetermined stage such as pro-wrestling, Warrior brought something real, positive, and inspirational to his self-built character “The Ultimate Warrior.” Forward several years into the future and it’s not often that one gets to meet and connect with one of his true childhood idols. I have been lucky enough to do just that and I have to say Warrior, who is often mischaracterized and misunderstood for is no BS beliefs, unlike many others, lives up to his legendary status. Once Warrior and his associated Daniel Donnelly, who are both AnAkA supports contacted me about the possibility of AnAkA being featured on the “Warrior Workout Compilation CD” I gave them a big “lets do this.” We are really psyched about this project, bring the Ultimate Warrior and the Ultimate Rock band, AnAkA, together as one!!"

Jimmy Pallis, Lead Vocalist for AnAkA also added, "I think its really cool that the music I perform is motivating and psyching up the most motivated and intense dude I have ever witnessed... The Ultimate Warrior. Along with Warrior our music is going to help give the everyday man or woman the additional boost of adrenaline needed to get their mind and body ready for the task at hand... focusing energy and manipulating inner strength, that is definitely rocken!"

Razorblade Smiles (Starving the world of morality) -- By: Peter Pallis

Well I hope the fat cat, white haired, razorblade smiled politicians are happy! They have taken one more piece of freedom from the American public. Now they can say when it’s ok to starve someone to death.

They basically murdered and starved to death an already tortured soul in Terri Schiavo, just because they felt they had the power to make the decision. Take it from me, little old men with over-practiced smiles, and hidden agendas, have no power, they only possess that power give them. There white hair, frail little arms, grubby little fingers, and rank breathe prove that. What ever happened to strength? REAL STRENGTH. Yeah sure, she felt nothing, Yeah, she didn’t want to live, she only held on for 13 days. BS.

For the sake of the derelict lets just say that Terri didn’t want to continue living in the condition she was in, wasn’t there a better way to put her to rest? How can starving her be the answer, this country won’t even do that to criminals, known murderers. Saying she couldn’t feel it is a cop out, that can’t be proven, and even if she did didn’t feel it what about the moral issue? How can someone morally defend such an action? What planet are we on?

As for her husband, it seems to me that the wrong person ended up in the coma.

AnAkA Interview & European #1 Ranking of "Down Devil's Road"

INTERVIEW OF AnAkA - "THE AMERICAN WAY"

Interview by, Antonis Maglaras of Greek Radio, CRETE FM

1. Antonis: First of all, tell us the history of "AnAkA"?

AnAkA is a heavy metal/ hard rock band from Brooklyn, New York with its musical influences ranging from Metallica, to Alice In Chains, and Black Sabbath. AnAkA was originally formed in 2000 but has quickly established a fan base in the NY underground heavy metal, and hard rock seen as well as the rest of the U.S.A.. AnAkA, "Down Devil's Road" is the bands first album, and it contains 7 kick ass heavy and heart felt tracks. AnAkA's music is rage, heartbreak, self realization, love, honor and wisdom ... powerful music for the outlaw-thinker that is found in all of us.

2. Antonis: Tell us some details for the CD "Down Devil's Road"

Pete: Devil's Road is our first studio album. It took us about four months to record and mix down the material on Devil's Road. The music from the album is very personal to me as a song writer. My thoughts, my beliefs, and my life experiences fuel my writing. The songs are like windows into my heart and mind.

3. Antonis: Is there any feedback from the audience about the CD till now?

Pete: We have a great deal of fans here all over the USA. Everyone has really shown a lot of support. We've sold a great deal of CDs on www.AnAkA.NET. We've have very loyal fans, and everyday more and more people join our AnAkA Army. It is something that we are very proud of. There's nothing like connecting with people through music that you feel and make. You can even view what some of our fans have to say about AnAkA on the comment section of one of our unofficial websites www.AnAkA.iuma.com.

4. Antonis: Which is the procedure when you write the songs?

Pete: Well there are a couple procedures we go through. On Devil's Road I had written the songs (guitar and lyrics) and just showed them to the rest of the guys in the band. They listened to them and added there own parts to them (drums, bass, and vocal range and technique wise). Since then we also just jam, all together and just go with what happens in the jams. I'll have a guitar idea, or Karl will come up with a cool bass riff, and we all just build on the those ideas. We use both these methods although I mostly decide what the songs are about lyrically.

5. Antonis: Have you already played any gigs?

Jimmy: Yes we've played a lot of gigs. We are a live band, we love playing live, its the best part of being a band. We feel that the most important thing as a band is the performance. The live performance is where, as artists, we can express the feelings projected in our music and the stage gives us the perfect opportunity to floor our audience not only sonically but also visually. We have played and headlined a number of shows in well known and well respected venues here in New York City, such as, The Continental, CBGB's, L'Amour, Castle Heights, etc.

6. Antonis: Your influences from the metal scene?

Pete: Metallica, Black Label Society, Black Sabbath, Corrosion of Conformity, Alice In Chains.

Jimmy: Metallica, Megadeth, Corrosion of Conformity, Alice In Chains, Black Sabbath, and Black Label Society

Karl: Metallica, Alice In Chains, God Smack.

Tony: Rush, Testament, Queensryche, Alice in Chains, and Metallica.

7.Antonis: Pete tell me your influences as a guitar player

Pete: James Hetfield, Zakk Wlyde are my two biggest influences as a guitarist.

8. Antonis: Jimmy tell me your favorite vocalist

Jimmy: As a vocalist I would say my favorite singers would definitely be Layne Staley, Pepper Keenan, Zakk Wylde, Dave Mustaine, Chuck Billy, and James Hetfield.

9. Antonis: You live in USA, how do you see the metal scene there?

Pete: This place needs a new kick ass metal band to breath some life into the metal scene once again, and we feel AnAkA is just the band to give the US metal scene a swift kick in the ass. There is so much music out there that doesn't say anything. AnAkA is about feeling, AnAkA is about Power, AnAkA is about being real. Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal here in the USA is ready for a rebirth, it just needs a band to come along, pick up the metal flag and run with it. We believe we are that band.

10. Antonis: Do you know anything from the metal scene in Greece?

Pete: Only that you guys must have great taste in music if your playing AnAkA on "Crete FM." haha...

11. Antonis: Tell me you favorite album and your favorite band?

Pete: WOW that's a difficult question to answer...Well my favorite band is Metallica, and I love all their albums but my favorite one would have to be Master of Puppets. Some of my other favorite albums are, Black Label Society "Sonic Brew," Megadeth Rust in Piece," Down "Nola,''

12. Antonis: What are your plans in the future for "AnAkA"?

Pete: There is no limits for AnAkA, we want to take our music to the people, we want to connect we people through our music. The world must hear AnAkA.

13.Antonis: Is metal a way of life for you?

Pete: We in AnAkA define our lives in the way we see fit. As for me, metal is the music I listen to, and it is a large part of the music I play and write. As for it being a part of my life, in a way it is, but I am not a follower of trends, I am what I am and I live my life my way. You don't have to wear certain clothing, or have long hair, You just have to be yourself, and when you play people can tell how truly METAL you are.

14. Antonis: I found you through the Internet, do you think that the net can replace the old underground days?

Jimmy: I think the Internet can provide bands, such as ourselves, which are trying to get noticed, with another means of getting their music out there. I feel that the underground days cant be replaced because it still exists, it hasn't gone anywhere. For a band to truly be worthy of being given respect, it must pay its dues as an underground band, play gigs and kicking ass. The underground rock scene is where a true kick ass band gets it's name, not the Internet, though the net may help.

15. Antonis: Tell me what dreams you have for "AnAkA"

Pete: AnAkA is my dream come true. Playing this great music with my best friends, who could ask for anything more? I don't know what we are destined for, that is for time to decide. But I do know this, AnAkA is real, powerful, heartfelt music and soon everyone will know what we are all about.

16. Antonis: Thanks for your interview, and close the interview as you like.

Pete: I just wanted to thank you for helping us spread the word of AnAkA. This is only the beginning so strap yourself in tight, ain't gonna be no turning, ain't gonna be no stopping, only straight ahead at one hundred plus mph. Enjoy the AnAkA ride. Thanxxx again, Stay Wild Always, from AnAkA.
